Regional Market Manager - Ontario

This position is for someone who is passionate about startups and being at the forefront of innovation in Canada, and working with an emerging charity. This is a fast paced management role overseeing the coordination and execution of LOI’s regional initiatives to activate entrepreneurship. This position is best suited to an energetic, entrepreneurial-minded, organized, detail oriented and hands-on community builder who is capable of bringing together the moving pieces of a local community linked to a broader national movement.

As the Regional Market Manager you will report directly to the Director of Programs, and work with the regional Entrepreneur in Residence, Connectors, Entrepreneurs, Mentors and LOI Labs program participants and alumni to foster regional engagement with the entrepreneurial and business community. You will manage the day-to-day regional operations of the LOI Labs program, be the point person for ventures on the ground in your market and the main point of contact for any regional external partners.

Your role is a critical part of LOI’s goal to deliver programs and create content that matters to young entrepreneurs from across Canada. You will have close interaction with local Labs cohorts, LOI’s corporate partners and key players. In addition you will be tasked with building out the LOI brand in your specific region, and take on certain speaking and facilitation opportunities. Overall you have strong relationship building skills, you are organized and you like to roll up your sleeves to get shit done!

Competencies and Responsibilities:

Event + Program Management

  • A key responsibility of the role is to coordinate and manage the internal and external activities of the LOI Labs program. This includes everything from maintaining a master schedule, to organizing and distributing resource documents, to booking event space, to coordinating speakers.

  • You will be responsible for coordinating key program activities such as internal workshops, seminars, sessions, and educational components with LOI partners, external events (conferences, talks, etc), mastermind sessions and community events.

  • Partners are a big part of the LOI’s regional initiatives, and it is the Regional Market Manager who will be responsible for maintaining specific relationships with our programming partners in their market; this may include corporations, educational institutions, entrepreneurs, and facilitators.


Market activation

  • You have a clear understanding of who LOI’s target demographic is and how to engage them within the programmatic funnel & community building initiatives.

  • Demonstrate an ability to meaningfully engage SME’s, entrepreneurs and key partners in LOI led initiatives within your market

  • Demonstrate an ability to develop and maintain partnerships by identifying alignment between LOI’s vision and values and the values of other entities.


  • You can identify and relate to LOI’s target demo.

  • You will communicate directly via various channels (in person, email, slack etc.) with ventures in the program and the LOI core team based on the West Coast

  • Understand how to create, build and manage relationships within the regional community of young entrepreneurs and the local business community at-large.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working in a startup environment.

  • Experience working with another incubator or accelerator.

  • Experience and familiar working in a remote role.

  • Experience using Asana, Slack, and Zoom

Travel will be required within Ontario and potentially within Canada.
