What do I need to apply?
Why is the program limited to founders under the age of 25?
You can find all the criteria here. But in general you need a business, you need a computer, and your need some passion for the problem you are solving.
League of Innovators was created to invest in the future. We’ve limited our programming to youth because of the unique set of challenges they face. Our programs are specifically designed to address these challenges.
I am 26 can I apply?
Unfortunately no. You have to be under 25 years of age to apply and receive entry into the program. If you are turning 25 in 2019 that you can apply, if you are turning 26 or older in 2019 unfortunately you are not eligible for the program.
Does the program cost me anything?
Nope. Our programs are meant to barrier free and accessible to all youth. We really mean it when we say no strings attached.
Does LOI invest?
Accessibility is a huge priority for us. By allowing ventures to keep their equity, we ensure that there are absolutely no barriers to entry.
How much time will I need to dedicate to this program?
The time commitment to LOI Labs will fluctuate from week to week. On average, you can expect to spend 5 - 10 hours per week engaging on programming. Outside of that, what you put into your business is completely up to you. Our approach is hands-on but self-led.
I live outside of the regional nodes, should I apply to the program?
Yes! Our regional nodes are designed to tap into existing startup ecosystems to maximize our value add at every opportunity. Ventures from outside of those regional nodes will have the same access to programming, the LOI team at HQ, our network of entrepreneurs and investors & mentors as the rest of the program participants.
I don’t have a ‘company’ just an idea, should I still apply?
We work with ventures from idea to market. If you think you’ve got something, submit an application.
Our group has two ideas. Can we submit two applications?
We don’t recommend it. Apply with your strongest idea.
Do I need a team in order to apply?
No. We accept solo founders and founding teams alike.
Do we need to incorporate before applying
No. We’ll help with that.
When does the program start?
The program starts February 10, 2019 and runs for 12 weeks.
Do I need to move to Vancouver?
No. The program is delivered virtually, and you can access it from anywhere with a computer and internet access. We are building physical regional nodes in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto to support larger concentrations of our founders. You never know we may build regional node where ever you are!
DOES EVERYONE WHO APPLY GET IN?
No. The application process is competitive and is made up of several parts including two interview stages and final judging stage.
