2018 LOI Labs Venture Burgundy Oak has been selected to appear in an upcoming episode of DRAGONS DEN, airing October 11th, 2018, at 8:00 PM (8:30 NT) on CBC Television.

Joel Jelinski, 25 years old, started Burgundy Oak in a two-car garage just three short years ago, based on an idea he had when he was just 12 years old. With Jelinski’s lead, the Calgary based start up has grown to a team of 14 full time employees operating out of an 8300 sq.ft manufacturing facility, with the product line selling in over 500 stores across North America.

Specializing in creating furniture and décor pieces from authentic wine barrels, their products range from clocks and candleholders to liquor cabinets and kegerators, which create an in home bar experience by dispensing your beer, wine or mixed drinks straight from the barrel. Burgundy Oak focuses on authenticity and the story behind every piece, which has set them apart in the home furnishings market place and has resulted in large distribution deals with Home hardware, Homesense, Bed Bath & Beyond, Wayfair and The Hudson’s Bay Company. Due to this rapid growth and quick expansion, the Burgundy Oak team is actively seeking an equity investment, and what better place to start then the Dragons Den. This potential capital injection is essential if the company is going to continue to grow at it’s current pace and take on larger licensing deals.

Although what happens in Den can’t be revealed until October 11th, the Burgundy Oak team learned some valuable lessons from the Dragons; a product is only as good as its team. “Everyone on our team brings a different skill set to the table and we are all passionate and ambitious to leave our mark” – Joel Jelinksi
